Well, this year we're doing 3 trips (12 nights, 5 nights and 7 nights.) But, that is not the norm for us at all. This is a special year! After this year, it'll be atleast once a year for a week-we just joined DVC.
Last year we went 3 times (in a 365 day period from December 2003-November 2004) with APs. This year we'll go twice (June and December) and it'll probably be twice from here on out .
Ok I know I'm in the right group now. I am a disneyholic and proud of it. Our first trip was the week after Thanksgiving 2001. We only planned 3 days because my DH and I didn't think we would like it. Boy were we wrong!!! We had the best vacation ever. We even sent (paid for) BF family to go May the next year. We didn't feel we would ever go back but 2 years later Sept. 2003 we were headed back. This time we stayed 11 nights and went to US and IOA also. Both trips were amazing!!! Last Oct. we went to Bahamas for family vacation, and although had a great time it just wasn't Disney. Now we are planning another family vacation. DS said he wanted to go to Yellowstone National park or New Orleans. DH said he wanted to see Yellowstone. So I am planning that trip, all along looking at the dis and dreaming. Yesturday I finally told them I had to go back to Disney. My son said fine with him if DH and DS could pick the resorts, I have no problem with that. Well DS said ok I want to go to New Orleans so we will stay half the time at POFQ and DH said he could see the guiser at WL. There you go we're all happy. Planning for the week after Thanksgiving 2005. You are all such a bad influence. I love it.
It looks like I average about once a year for the past 12 years - but that includes "Dark Years" & "Plentiful Years". I go as often as I can afford. DH only goes with us every couple years tho. He hasn't got quite as bad a case as DS & I have....
As a child I went every year or every other year. As an adult, I've gone about once every 3 years. For my way of thinking, this is best, because after a few years, there are always lots of new things to see. Even if I could afford it, I'm not sure I'd go more frequently - there's just to many other places to go.
If I could, I'd go once a month, but as finances do not allow for that, I go once a year. Hoping to go twice in 2007. My once a year trip, however, is typically 9-10 days.
We used to go once a year, but last year we bought AP's and went 4 times. We're going back in May, with another trip planned in Sept. and another in Dec.
We go at least once a year, have been doing so since our honeymoon in 1994. I'm guessing until about 1998 we went only once a year (we were broke!) and then we started going twice some years. 3x one year, but one visit was a quick weekend visit. In 1998 we went twice, twice in 1999, once in 2000, twice in 2001, once in 2002, twice in 2003, and 3 times in 2004.
Here's the sad thing for me - we haven't got a trip planned yet this year. However, we're going to Southern CA for vacation/business reasons and we're of course putting Disneyland on the to-do list. It's weird - I'm sad that I'm not going to Florida...I'm obsessed. I'm sure we'll have a great. Not sure when we're going this year - I'm sure we will. Haven't planned it yet. This might be a year when we go only once.
I went as a child once in 1979. Then with my own family we went for the first time in May 2002. Twice in 2003, once in 2004 and going again in June of this year. If I could swing it we would go twice a year from now on, but I figure it will have to be kept down to once a year due to finances. I know there are also a lot of other places to see, unfortunately, I just don't care anything about seeing them. I really want to, want to, but I can't bare the thought of spending money on a trip that isn't Disney World! Thank goodness, my SIL has a condo at the beach that she invites us to once a year. We can afford that because we only have to pay for food and entertainment, not lodging, otherwise we would never get to do anything else.
If we lived close enough to drive to WDW we'd go at least once a year but we don't. We started out going every 3 years but that was just too long of a gap between trips. Now we go down every 2 years which still just about does us in to wait that long between trips! We started going when my kids were 5 and 9 - they're 14 and 18 now. I love every memory of each of our 4 trips to WDW and wish we could have gone even more times than that!
We go everyother year! Its a big gap but we enjoy going other places. We had been to virgina, california(DL for 1day), and a cruise!! We hope to go to disney more often!!
