Poll: Groovy or Gross: Nick Hotel

I was thinking about staying here for a couple of nights in Feb. The boys have always wanted to go. I have read mixed reviews, so I am posting a poll! THANKS!!!

My son loved it when we stayed there a couple of years ago. He wants to stay there again, but we live just down the street now.

We have a report on the hotel in our first issue of Orlando Attractions Magazine. It'll be out next week.

I have a good friend that is a manager there and he stays it is a disaster most of the time. It is an old hotel that has been redone and they have major plumbing issues that just won't be resolved. The food court is a joke, you have to wait 2 hours for a pizza.
The pool is really nice though, it is like a water park, but is always overcrowded.

Nick Hotel definitely has its issues (such as noise and crowds), but this is not one of them. The hotel first opened in 2000 and is definitely NOT a re-do of an old hotel!

When we went Jan 05 it was just great. It wasn't crowded or loud, the food wasn't that great but either was the food court at CBR. The pools make it worth it and the 2 room kidsuites.

I am almost 100% sure this hotel was originally a Holiday Inn Sunspree so it would be a redo.

My brother claims it ranks as his "worst" hotel ever. Like me he travels a lot and he felt the staff ranked as the "rudest" ever My SIL, the former public swimming pool manger, said that she felt the pool was just dirty and thier room was VERY below par...
