Heres what I want to know. If you call for the free DDP (Visa Rewards), and the CM says its booked for the resort you want (IE the POP, etc) what do you do then?
Do you:
A) hold off on the trip and wait to see if the free DDP resurfaces later?
B) Try another date? * see below*
C) Go the dates you wanted but WITHOUT the free DDP?
D) Go WITH the DDP and PAY for it?

and if you choose B and that still dont work, THEN what?
How flexible are you on your dates?

Not only am I hoping to see your results on this, but just knowing the answer to this before you call Disney could save you some aggrevations, it can save a CM some wasted time, and it could save another caller some wait time. Its one of those scenarios I play out in my mind before I make the call, so I can save the CM some headaches and so I dont sit there with "stammering tongue" trying to decide what to do.
But this poll is just for fun. So how do you decide?:thumbsup2

I called for Disney Free Dining. Resort I wanted was not available for my dates. So I booked a different resort.

A) I am doubting it will resurface
B) Could have changed dates but didn't ask to
C) Kept my dates, but free dining more important than where I slept
D) Not paying when I can get if for free

You know people change their mind, groups move, rooms come up. Why not book somewhere else then keep calling to see if a room comes available where you want. That was my plan, but now I am content with my choice and will stay put (and save money for other things).

PS I picked the resort quickly from list she had open because I had thought about it before I called. I was quick, next....

lets throw a few more thoughts in for discussion.
Would you go JUST FOR free DDP? (As if we need an excuse... right?:goodvibes )
Would you reschedule and rebook an already booked trip to get the free DDP?

And another fun thought (slightly OT)... would you (or have you) ever given away food from the DDP to perfect strangers because you couldnt eat it all?

HopperFan... thats the kind of response I was looking for.:thumbsup2 I just like to see how people think...
BTW, Ive been the one with lack of words from lack of planning myself many times. ((Well honey,... whatcha want to do? I dont know..... She says its all booked up...)) Discussions like this give me insight and promote thought. They help keep me from future blunders.;)

Last year the only reason I decided to go was because of Free Dining. I had already been twice in 2006 (and was booked for Jan 2007).

This year decided I would go with Free Dining or if not offered to go anyway with AAA room only discount, broker tickets.......

Reschedule.....hmmmm.......for a Sept trip, because only two of us who are flexible, yes. If the whole family, which has more restrictions, only if I could move to work for them.

Finally, I haven't (but only had DDP once so far) but I wouldn't hesitate to....I'm always handing away extra stuff I have. :goodvibes

ADRS are harder for me, but last year I had it all plotted out and it worked. But rooms, I had plan A and Plan B and thank goodness Plan B was open. If not maybe I would have thought to change the dates up alittle bit.

Now that I have determined Plan B will save me $708 and that will pay for Halloween Party, Discovery Cove and more.....I'm staying where I am at.

I was hoping for free dining, but it was no on our date.. Oh well we got a great room deal and had the dining added so we would of saved over 500.00 if it were free. But I have my flights booked and everything so we are staying with our dates..

I have no choice but to go one the dates booked and little choice on which dates we could gop to start with.
