I know widescreen preserves the original frames, and some outer edge stuff gets cut off of fullscreen ... but my TV is just not big enough to enjoy watching a skinny rectangular strip of a movie! I like my movie to fill the whole screen. ....... though I sometimes wonder if I'm missing some critical parts of a scene that way.

What about you guys?
:sunny:

Fullscreen here!!

I get distracted and feel I have to squint with the black areas on the top and bottom of the screen!! I suppose if I had a big screen TV, I might feel different but for now the fullscreen is more to my liking

Widescreen for me :thumbsup2

Widescreen only for me - once they started making DVD's that way, I never went back.

Widescreen movies for our (relatively small) widescreen TV. We watch regular TV shows widescreen too; makes the actors a little chubbier, but I don't even notice it any more.

For movies that were filmed widescreen, I like widescreen. But for TV shows, filmed to be full-screen, I like that. There wasn't an option for "I like to see it the way it was intended to be seen."

So, I picked widescreen. :)

Widescreen.

I had Grease full screen on VHS and also watched it that way on tv a zillion times. When they re-released it in the theater, there was Bowzer from Sha Na Na. I had totally forgotten about him. Now I have a widescreen copy, and I never ever buy full screen. Doesn't matter how small the screen.

Full screen. I HATE the black boxes. My stepdad buys all DVD's widescreen. I buy them all full screen. We've got our own little battle going. But full screen is better

Definitely Widescreen.

Fullscreen is just madness I tell you, madness!

It has to be widescreen around here. :)

Definitely fullscreen! Why would I want to watch half of a movie and half black bars?! I get annoyed sometimes when all they have is widescreen at the stores. I would much rather watch anything fullscreen.

Widescreen. I can't stand watching a flick in full screen...you miss so much of the picture with full screen

I don't own any Widescreen televisions, or any big tvs at that, but I must buy my DVD's in widescreen.

If available, it's gotta be widescreen. If it's not available on the movie DVD, we won't buy the DVD.

I like to see the movie as it is originally shot. Especially the older movies. They were not filmed wtih the aftermarket in mind--so you watch and faces are cut off. It is annoying.

I love to partake all the elements as the director envisioned. The improper framing bugs me.

Widescreen all the way. You miss soooo much detail with fullscreen and don't even get me started on pan-and-scan. :scared:
