Poll: Do you take a Robe to your DVC Home?

OK!! Preparing for our upcoming trip next week and I am already well overpacked, and wondering if there are others that make room in their luggage for robes.

We love being home at DVC and although I have never taken a robe before, I am seriously considering it this time. Hence, this poll!

Please feel free to share TMI as we delve into the personal preferences of DVCer's.

Last December at our GG, in passing, I mentioned to my DSis that I what I was missing was a robe so that I can sit on the balcony and drink my coffee. For our birthdays, she gave DH and me wonderful robes, embroidered with our significant Disney characters, and last week, we both enjoyed using them at VWL.

This time I packed an extra suitcase with the robes and an electric sandwich maker and some other supplies, so we made the room, but we didn't have a spare suitcase to bring back Florida oranges like we usually do in the winter.

We love cruising with a balcony and some lines give you a robe to wear while you're cruising, so maybe that's where our preference comes from.

I have one but I don't use it at home, so why take up precious space in my suitcase!

But I do make sure that I have something presentable to wear whilst sitting on the balcony enjoying my morning coffee.

Well, I voted yes, but I must admit I've never taken one before. HOWEVER, I know I'm getting a short robe for Christmas which will be perfect for heading to the pool in January. We'll also be in our villa for 8 days during our January trip -- no guests, no set-in-stone plans (except for room service breakfast one morning!!!), etc. That's a long stay for us, as we usually spend more time with my in-laws, do a short cruise, Vero, etc. At most we're in one villa for 5 days. So the extra time will afford me the use of my robe -- and it gets chilly in the morning in January, so you'll find my robe, my coffee, my book and I on the balcony!!!

I have a thin silky short robe with Mickey on it that my mom bought in a Disney Outlet years ago that stays in my suitcase for all our trips! But, I would never wear it to the pool

I am in the "it depends" I have a silky robe that I travel with and sometimes it goes and sometimes it doesn't. One biggie is am I checking or doing carry on! Carry on tends to cut down on the "extras" LOL!

I always take my summer robe with me, I can't imagine walking around the villa without it.

I have one very ratty old lightweight silk robe with Mickey heads all over it. It is VERY old and has holes in it, but if we are having non-family guests with, I pack it to throw on while making coffee etc in the morning "just in case" someone should get up while I'm in the kitchen before changing out of the nightgown. I wouldn't take a nice terry robe, since it takes up too much space in the case!

I use a heavy terry cloth robe every day (at home) after showering. But it would just take up far too much room to bring on vacation so I just do without it while in Disney.

I never-ever wear a robe at home, but I always take a "pool robe" with me when traveling. It's a robe made specifically for poolside, to use as a cover up. Actually, I have a couple of them, and I think they're pretty cute. The length hits around mid thigh, and they come with either short sleeves or tank-top sleeves.

If I happen to forget my pool robe, I usually just put on one of my hubby's T-shirts as a cover-up to go to the pool. He's 6' 5.5", so needless to say, his t-shirts are plenty long for me!

Nope. I wear a t-shirt and silky, girly 'boxers' on the balcony when I have my morning tea. No room for a robe in the cases - need to leave space for shopping!

I just bought a box of zip lock bags XL (4 bags for $5.99) from target. They are a size big enough you can fit a sleeping bag. I am going to pack all our clothes in them for this trip. Plus they will be a great laundry bag for the dirty ones. I bet you can even smoosh them down to get all the air out.

I only wear a robe at home for the hot tub, and have never brought it to Florida. However, last year it was very chilly going to and from the hot tub at BW, so this year it's packed, and ready to go. We leave tomorrow night! I pride myself on packing light, which is easy to do in the spring and summer, but at this time of year, it's nearly impossible. DH dragged my suitcase out to the car tonight, and said he thinks I packed rocks!!

I'm ever so chic - I wear a comfy night shirt and sweat pants when I'm schlepping around home OR a villa.

I am still obedient!
My robe is a light cotton caftan, suitable as an emergency shelter for 3 or just enough to cover moi--no one, not even my guys, really want to see a fat lady in her bubblegum pink Tinkerbell PJ's!
I follow Mom's example & 'persuade' DH & DS16 to bring robes
their robes are lightweight cotton, too
all that & we still do just the carry on
