If we want the same thing, we'll share but most of the time, we do the same as you.
I realized that if my wife orders something I was thinking of having, I admit, I'll end up ordering something different. We often try each other's dishes anyways, so it works out.

Very rarely unless it's a place known for something special. For example, one place we go has a weekly prime rib night so if we go that night we might both get the prime rib.
That is one time I can think where my wife and I have ordered the same meal. My MIL’s club in Florida has a prime rib night on Fridays and it’s really good so we usually both get it when we’re down there.

We have a few favorite restaurants where we always both order the same thing. It starts because if one of us has something that's so delicious, why wouldn't the other one want to try it too? Then it becomes both of our favorites and we both want to order it. There are other places we go where we NEVER order the same thing, so I don't find it weird at all.

It's more rare that we both order the same thing the first time at a restaurant, but it does happen. I wonder if it was seafood pasta? That's when it happens for us since we both love seafood pasta.

This made me think of a story. Many years ago I was traveling to a city and my dad got so excited that I HAD to try a certain dish at a certain restaurant. He sent me money specifically to go there. (I was single young adult) I was with some friends and he had sent me enough to pretty much cover all of us so we ALL ordered the same exact meal he had raved about. It was good!

I am weird in that I was raised to never share food or drink with anyone, and to this day, it’s just disgusting to even think about. The quickest way to no longer be my friend is to reach over and take something off my plate. If we want to split something, we split it on separate plates before we start eating.

I n my opinion, everyone should order what they want to eat, regardless of what others at their table are ordering. If it ends up being the same thing, that’s fine.

It happens, sometimes. I am trying to think when the last time we did, and it was at The Brown Derby. We both had the Cobb Salad as the entree.

Never order the same thing. We do share. On our last cruise we both wanted to try some of the main dishes, so we shared them.

lol we always have the same thing if cooking at home only difference is if it's leftovers or ordering from a restaurant for deliver or pickup.

What's something Kitty likes that you don't and what's something that you like that Kitty doesn't?
I'm a foodie, Kitty has a limited palate, because of some isssues and because she just doesn't like some stuff. I like almost anything>:)

Sometimes, if we’re at a brand new place, we might get two things to share (different entrees but with the intent to try both). But for a regular meal we each get what we want. Sometimes it’s the same, sometimes it’s not.

We’ve been together 33 years, never, not allowed.
Very very rarely do DH and I order the same food. He knows that I HATE it when he gets the same thing without getting my approval first. We usually discuss what we’d like and sometimes compromise before the server arrives.

Supposedly one set of my parents’ friends ALWAYS ordered the exact same food at restaurants, even the same side dishes, salad dressing, drinks, and dessert.

Why? I'm confused as to why what another person orders matters or something you would need to come to n agreement about??? My dh and I order what we want. It rarely is the same, but has been at times, but nothing either of us would really ever think about.

Usually no because we want different things when we are out. We have split entrées to share, especially at lunch.

All the time - if we both fancy the same thing we have it! We both like a lot of the same foods so a lot of the time we both like the same things on a menu. Who cares as long as we are both enjoying our meal? I don't see what the big deal is.

We never did, we never didn't. We ordered what we wanted individually and if it happened to be the same thing, then it was the same thing. In general, we didn't because of different tastes.

She usually ordered something chicken. She loved chicken. I don't care for chicken, it's too much work vs. other meats because you have to prepare it into something tasty vs. I can just dust pork chops with Lawry's and cook them on the grill, in a pan, skillet, air fryer, oven, toaster oven, George Forman, whatever way I have closest to me. We had chicken all the time because she loved chicken.

We order whatever we want. Very very rarely it might be the same - not even worth mentioning it. Even If we both crave a dish/looks interesting - one of us will purposely order something different/new so we can both experience the "new dish"/meal.

We order seafood most of the time (unless at a steak restaurant) or a meal that we would not normally cook at home. We don't eat fried foods. I might give in when out (not DH).

Almost never. In places we haven't tried before, we deliberately order different meals so we can both try each other's dish. And in places we go often, we have such different tastes that it would be unusual for us to want the same thing. I order fish a lot when we're out because DH is deadly allergic so I only very rarely cook it at home out of concerns about cross-contamination, and he orders "guy food" like huge messy burgers or those massive some-of-everything breakfast specials when we're out because I don't cook that way very often.
