We just got back from DL and we staied at HoJo's. It was our 2nd time this year at HoJos and really enjoyed it. The beds are so comfy and now they have microwaves in the rooms. :)
Now my problem. We had such a nice time at HoJos I am thinking I want to stay there instead of DLH. I have both booked for our Oct trip. We got the AP7 rate at $159.00 at DHL and the Entertainment rate at HoJo's at $59.00. I am not sure if it's worth $100.00 more a night. I know the walk is about the same. I just think it would be cool to stay at DLH but then again we could just stay at HoJo's and use the extra money for character meals (witch we don't usually do because of the cost.) What would you do?

I've stayed at both, and will pick HoJo's now every time. Save the money and use it on something special like a special meal or tour.

We just finished a 3 night stay at DLH....I would not spend the extra money and won't go back there. I was not happy with the hotel or the mousekeepers. The bathroom had blood splatter or bug guts all over one of the lamps, I cleaned it myself after our 2nd day there:eek: The beds were not very comfortable and you could feel the springs in spots. The sheets at one time had holes in them and were stitched closed. Maybe I am a hotel snob since we have only stayed at Deluxe hotels at WDW, but this was not worth the cost per night!!! Oh and the pool was cold:scared1:

I have not stayed at HoJo, but hopefully it is better than DLH.

You should make a poll...

Does saving money matter to you:
-Yes!!!
-Not so much!!!

That rate for the DLH is amazing. I wouldn't turn it down. We're paying $205 per night, plus a resort fee and tax on the fee in Nov. The CM in VP told me rooms are running over $300 per night. I'm using a pin code. So, you are getting a smoking deal!

Well I love staying onsite, nothing beats it IMO. But then again we weren't crazy about our stay at Hojo's. So for us it would be the DLH hands down.

I guess money would be a biggest factor though. It is for us when we are trying to decide whether to stay onsite or off.

Impossible to answer as everyone's priorities differ. For me, I will always stay onsite so it's an easy answer--DLH. Nothing against HoJos, it's just that I *love* being onsite in a way I can't explain to someone who sees it as a waste of money that could better be spent elsewhere. It's like trying to explain to someone who doesn't enjoy going to Disneyland why you want to get an AP.

The entertainment rate makes the HOJO a no-brainer for us. It's a wonderful place to stay, and we've always enjoyed our time there.

If we couldn't get the entertainment rate at the HOJO, then I'd probably pick the DLH (if I could get a great rate there like the AP7 rate).

But for a savings of $100 per night, it's not even a question......the HOJO!:thumbsup2

Given the chance, we always choose to stay on property--it is just part of the vacation experience for us. I know it may not be to others, but for us--it is as important as going into the Park.

Only you can make this choice.

Our next stay will be at the Grand Californian, and I can't wait to go. That will be in December. But we have stayed at the DLH many times, and always had a great experience, so that is wonderful too.

I must be one of the few that didn't think that HOJO was all that great. We liked it don't get me wrong but it was just as good as Fairfield Inn.

Stay on site.

59 bucks a night at hojo never stayed there but will in oct can not turn it down for that price.

save the money and do 1 of the character meals for sure.

we havent stayed on site and as I am sure its nice to, we enjoyed HOJO and for the savings per night just means more character meals, yummy foods, and souveiners.

I haven't stayed at either but suppose it depends on your priorities. For us it's a reasonable price but a clean and safe room and within walking distance of the parks so we chose the Fairfield Inn. I didn't feel the extra expense of an onsite hotel was worth it to us but I can see why it would be for others :)

havent stayerd hojos yet will in oct. i would chose hojo over an extra 100 a night. dang i know my big thing is the firework view if i was to stay dlh i still couldnt get a view for there cheap price. ill just stay with hojos.

my dh says like in three years we want to try dlh but only for a special time

HoJo's!

Enjoy the park more with the extra money. That's what you're there for anyway, right?

i have stayed at both and love both....the comfort level imo is really great as far as beds go at hojo...dlh is ok....the distance is about the same unless you are taking the monorail but if you walk you get to go through dd....the thing about dlh is 24 7 disney ambiance vs. once I walk to the front its over....I dont know thats a hard one for me...if I had to choose by price of course Im going to say hojo...but if saving money wasnt involved in the equation then overall if I had the choice between one or the other I would choose DLH

I love both!

I can't decide.

I love saving money and I enjoy both building 1 and 2 at Hojo's but I love the Magic of the DLH.

I wouldn't want to have one of the theme park view rooms at Hojo's with the trees blocking the view, though.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier is that if I chose HoJo's over DLH because of the price, it would NOT translate into more money for me to spend in the parks, so I see no advantage to it for me ;) It would just give my dh more money to spend on golf with his buddies or something lame like that :lmao:
