A year or two ago a special ticket was offered to DVC members.

If I remember correctly, it was for 5 days a year, for 4 of the next 5 years.

I do not remember the price but I remember it was not a good deal compared to buying several 7 day hopper pass. That was my opinion at least.

Just wondering if anyone else remember the offer or actually bought them.

Thanks Tigger

Sure I remember that offer. It was a big disappointment that DVC came out with such a complicated offer that was just about worthless. You have a rough description of the deal but it did offer a bit more -- trips to the water parks, etc. Overall, it was a ridiculous offer. I may never understand why they can't simply create an offer comparable to the FL Resident discount. They can call it something different, DVC Owner Discount springs to mind, but have comparable pricing. I would gladly give up the current 10% off LOS in favor of this program.

I understand why they don't want to give us discounts comparable to the FL residents (not enough economic incentive), but I sure agree with you! I would also gladly give up thje current 10% off LOS in favor of something comparable to FL resident discounts!

Best wishes -

Okay, I had to go to the vault. ;) The Magical Years Pass is discussed in the Winter 2000 Vacation Magic.

For 4 of the next 5 years you would get 5 days per year at the major parks with full hopping access plus a choice of 2 other options per year -- choices are PI, BB, TL, River Country or Disney's WWofS complex. Also got $10 off 1 adult admission to DQ, 50% off one round of miniature golf, 10% merchandise discount at water parks. Cost was the same for an adult or a child and was $749.

For comparison, at that time an AP for an adult was $324 and a child's pass was $275. A PAP was $434/$369

and if you didnt go to disney one year:eek: you would lose your 5 days for that year?

or you go every year but dont spend 5 days in the park, and you may feel you have to spend 5 days in the park just to use them, so the dont go to waste.....

As I recall, the consensus here was that it would be less expensive to just buy three 7-day PHP tickets. You'd get one more day and 4 more plus options than the Magical Yers Pass and no restrictions on use, and the days/plus options would never expire.

For most of us who post here, the ticket just didn't match the way we vacation (to say nothing of the price issue). Apparently, very few people took advantage of this special pass and it didn't last very long.

Seems like they should be able to work out something even if it was just a discount on annual passes.

I agree! Maybe with a new person at the helm, we will see some changes for the better. One can only hope.
