Can I just say I really, really HATE when someone brings something creepy up to my face and scares me with it?

My nephew's friend kept on sticking a snake in my face, and I warned him to quit. When he did it again, I actually threw my hot coffee at him. Didn't exactly mean to, but it was a natural reflex.

He stopped the snake thing after that.

Don't they have a poison in their bite that is strong enough to kill a human even? Maybe it was an urban legend that I read? LOL I dunno, I'm curious now though. It went on to say that they can't get their mouths opened enough to bite a human though, so they are totally harmless to us. I voted that I like the little buggers!

Edit: After looking at a few web pages (curiousity got the better of me), most seemed to conclude that there is really no reason to research this, so it has not been proven, or disproven. That fact alone tells me that it's probably an urban legend. If it's true though, the reason isn't because they can't get their mouth opened far enough, it was because their jaw is not strong enough to bite through human skin.

I can handle the Daddy Long Legs.......it's the shorter furrier legged spiders I have a REAL problem with!!!

I like daddy longlegs. They are cute and harmless. I carry them outside and set them free.

On the other hand, I have my own phobias involving reptiles with no legs. No quarter for those things around me
