just saw the new 3D A Christmas Carol. still like the 1951 Alastair Sim version best. what about you?

I liked the Patrick Stewart version even better than Alistair Sim, though. And I liked Albert Finney in "Scrooge". And Michael Caine in the Muppets version. And Bill Murray in "Scrooged".

Okay...never met "A Christmas Carol" I didn't like! Except for that one with Marlo Thomas...that was just stoopid.

I like the one with from the 1980's with George C. Scott. I think it was a made for TV version.

I vote for Alastair Sim! The Muppets are a close second. DH likes the George C. Scott version.

I haven't seen the new one yet, but I really want to. I love A Christmas Carol.

The Muppets by a landslide for me!
Then Patrick Stewart I think, then maybe George C Scott.
I believe DH owns every version ever made.

We did like the new Jim Carey version though. Time will tell where it falls in the list of favorites...

You forgot Mr. Magoo. Sorry but all those version are good. Sunday we saw Charles Dickens' Great Great Grandson perform a one man show. So far he's put the most heart into any version I've ever see. We also see our local repertory company play every year. Some years good some years not so good. I enjoyed Disney's version. Some parts more than others but on a whole it was worth the price of admission.

Actually I'm with Pete. I love Scrooge with Albert Finney, but when I talk to people about it, they look at me like I'm crazy. I guess most people have never seen it.

I also like the George C. Scott version, and yes, the Muppet version. I cry when Belle sings "The Love is Gone", and DH teases me.

Used to like the "American Christmas Carol" with Henry Winkler, but I haven't seen it in years.

I thought the Jim Carrey One was kind of scary...

I voted for the Alastair version and that is a great movie, but for my favorite actor in the "Christmas Carol" story it has to be George S. Scott.

But for a fun version no actor can beat Mickey.

And yes, I very much enjoyed Jim Carrey's version.

Dave

I would have to view them again to come up with my favorite.

I enjoyed the new Disney one with Jim Carrey. I am glad I saw it before I read the reviews.

I just got "Scrooge" delivered today! It is one of the best versions of A Christmas Carol. I also like the George C Scott one, the Muppets, and Patrick Stewart. My all-time favorite, though, is Scrooge McDuck as Scrooge, and Mickey as Bob Cratchit.

Muppets for me by a landslide. Sim version is pretty good too.
