Police driving behind you, does it make you nervous

I had a small town cop follow me through Bellevue Michigan this Summer. He was really out of line, right on my bumper. I would have stopped right in the middle of the road and asked him what the ^%$# was his problem except for one thing. We had several cases of Everclear alcohol in the boot, just purchased in Indiana! We need it to make our products but it's not sold in Michigan.
I was sweating bullets all the way to the city limit sign where he turned around.

OK, now I gotta know:

What do you make that you need tons of Everclear to make? :rotfl2:

I once needed Everclear for cleaning a particular electronic item. I just ordered it off the internet and had it delivered. I still have 3/5th of the bottle left. :rotfl2:

I have a lead foot, so if they come out of nowhere and are, BOOM, right behind me, I get a little nervous, and my husband IS the POLICE!!! ;)

If they have been behind me a while, or were always there, I figure they are just getting from A to B like me.

Yes I do...I am also one of those people who will go past a cop who is sitting on the shoulder either running radar or whatever, I will look back over and over to see if he pulls out and follows me...even though I am (usually) doing the speed limit..lol..

One time, he actually DID pull out..I had heart failure, then he turned on his lights!! I pulled over, thinking it was me, and he zoomed past me to the car who flew by me just a few seconds earlier doing 75+ in a 45...talk about heart failure.

No, I was married to a cop for years. I'm usually pretty close to the speed limit so a cop behind me doesn't bother me or make me change my behavior.

Yeah, I do. I already drive like an old lady, but I still get nervous anyway. What gets me even more nervous is when a police car is behind you and you change lanes, and the police car changes lanes to stay behind you. I hate that. I always want to change lanes again, but worry that I will look suspicious and surely get pulled over.

No. That said I always get annoyed when I'm on the highway going along and all of sudden people slow down because there is a speed trap. First, I'm not speeding to the point I'd get pulled over and if you're just slowing down when you see them, it's too late if they wanted to tag your speed. I just continue along, don't slow down, etc.

Someone mentioned crossing the border, I don't get nervous for the border crossing per se, more that I don't want to have to sit in line or getting further inspection, delaying my trip.

What were you making? maybe some Apple pie moonshine??? I have heard you can use Everclear in that instead of moonshine. It's yummy!pirate:

Does it make you nervous when you look in your rear view mirror and you see a police car behind you? I dont know why, but it makes me very nervous, even though I am not breaking the law or anything.. I hate that feeling of looking back and seeing one right behind me:confused3 Am I the only crazy person it bothers?:confused3;)

I always get nervous when they are behind me!

Its so funny, because last night at about 12:30am, I had to go get my DD from her school, they just came back from a field trip. I went and got her, and we were driving home and a Sheriff was beside us. I got in the turning lane, he got in the turning lane. I was like "great" anyway he followed me until I turned on my street (only about 5 minutes, but it felt longer) Maybe he thought we were up to no good, since it was late LOL!

When I worked in tv news, our crew cars were big white Chevy Caprices. They looked exactly like unmarked cop cars (and with the NYP press plates people assumed we were cops). I LOVED driving those cars because traffic ould part like the red sea for me wherever I went. If somebody slow was in front of me, all I had to do was pick up my two-way radio and pretend to talk into it and they would move out of my way super fast.

:rotfl2: Sounds like fun!

:rotfl2: There was actually a white caprice where I live that had NO PO PO on the tags because it used to be a cruiser with the big light on the side to shine on someone. People would see it coming and move over.

We have those around here. Funny thing about those cars is that they only seem to be driven by law enforcement or drug dealers.

I'm sure police officers know this...I wonder if they get a little amusement out of it!!!
I also get really nervous when they are behind me, even if I haven't been speeding! I think if I go over the limit my .5 mph, I will get pulled over. Then, I think if I go to slowly or look in the rearview mirror I'll look suspicious and get pulled over.

My husband says, and I quote, "I'm not gonna lie, it's a little amusing. But it's annoying when I need to be somewhere, because everyone slows way down."

;)

Doesnt make me nervous at all. My husband gets nuts when I pass them though going a little over the speed limit.

I used to get really nervous but last week someone was tailgating me on the freeway behind her low and behold a cop as soon as she pulled over from behind me he followed and pulled her over I hope she got a ticket tailgating is awful and dangerous too.

It makes me nervous - not because I am worried about being caught for anything, but because people get really stupid when driving around a squad car. People start slowing down, and then slow down some more. And then a bit more, because the squad car is still there. And then a bit more. And still more.

Exactly and finally they slow down so much that everybody is doing the speed limit again.:lmao:
