As a long time Disney nerd and DVC member I thought I've done Disney hardcore already ... BUT with Pokemon Go now available on my iPhone and starting my first ever solo trip to WDW... THIS should definitely be an adventure!

Blogs and FB groups about using Pokemon Go at the parks are abuzzing already... What do all of you think?!

Who is excited to try it out? Who isn't? Who thinks Disney should potentially create such an immersive experience using our iPhones?

If you have already tried it out at the parks let us know!

Pokemon in the parks would be awesome. I'm already so addicted.
I was thinking today that a Disney version would be epic!

I have zero interest in this type of thing, and from watching the news this evening with all the Pokemon people loitering around Central Park in NY looking at their phones, can see it creating traffic jams in the parks at WDW!

I know! And I do wonder, why spend that time and money to go to WDW and completely ignore my surroundings while busy looking for Pokemon. However, think how shorter the lines will be at the attractions because people will be busy looking for Pokemons, so maybe there IS some good thing here!

:tigger:

Just like most things in life I think there needs to be a balance. My son and I are definitely looking forward to playing this at Disney. We will probably spend the same amount of time playing this as we did running around playing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game or the Phineaus and Ferb game. It will certainly not take over our vacation, but will be a new fun addition. :)
Ironically, I have the news on right now and they are discussing all the people falling off a cliff, getting hit by a bus, getting bitten by a snake, and so on, playing Pokemon Go. LOL. :tigger:

I seriously cannot believe some of the stories coming out about this. I feel terrible for them, but they are giving the rest of us a bad name!!
If I am ever playing and it makes me unaware of the presence of a snake near by....:scared1: this chic is done! LOL!!

Yeah, same here. I purposely did not download the app because I know how I can get, and it would be a great excuse not to work...and since I run my business, this would be another disaster to add to the other Pokemon tragedies. LOL.

What? You don't think your customers will want to hear can you please hold while I catch this Dragonair. Good decision. LOL! I do not want to read the headline Man Loses Business over Pokemon Addiction. ;)

I am sure it will happen. LOL. I used to play those Pokemon games back in 1998, that were addictive enough, so I can just imagine this app!

Have to admit, I'm pretty excited about using Pokemon Go in the parks on my December trip. They're aiming to have their Second Generation Pokemon out by then! It gives me something to do while I wait in line, and *hopefully* will encourage me to stop and spend time looking at details in the park I would otherwise ignore.

I'm happy about Pokemon Go in the parks this September!

I'm going solo, so the thought of having Pokemon Go to distract me while I'm alone in long lines or waiting for a show to start really cheers me up. Plus with all the walking I'll be doing, egg hatching will be easy.

Just don't bump into other people in the park and you should be all set! lol

I tried to play in the parks the week after the game was released, dressed as my trainer from the game.

Unfortunately, the servers were down the whole morning, so I couldn't actually load the game until I went to Disney Springs later in the day. Disney Springs was okay, and I definitely got a lot of items and a couple cool Pokemon, but I think it would be a lot more fun in the parks!

I'll be trying it out at Universal this weekend, and then in Epcot a couple weeks from now. (Yay for being local!)

I did get a ton of great photos while I was in the parks, though! The Photopass photographers had a lot of fun with it, especially with their Magic Shots. ;) I can't wait to go back!

While I love my Pokemon Go, I won't be using the app in my upcoming trip in October. I want to enjoy the parks, watch people and feel the Disney Magic. I mean, why would you pay a Disney vacation and then play Pokemon Go?

But if some people want to do it, it's their choice!

How awesome would it be if Disney did something similar to Pokemon go that could only be accessed in the parks; kind of like a virtual sorcerers?! Imagine if you could do something like this as you were waiting in the lines! But the extra battery chargers I would need......
