I've seen several references to paying for cruises with points? or somethin glike DVC points??? What does this mean, andhow do you do it? I'm mystified.

Also, we cruised in May, and haven't got anything in the mail regarding Castaway Club? Should we be expecting anything?

We went ahead and rebooked but the best category nine room available was 2522, so a bit anxious about noice, etc.

I've only done three cruises and this will be our third.... just not accustomed to committing to a vacation a year in advance so always surprised how early boats seem to fill up...

DVC (Disney Vacation Club) members can use their allocation of points for DCL cruises as-well-as a number of other worldwide vacation options. This is in addition to using their points for stays at any of the DVC resorts.

Yes, the posts are referring to paying for the cruise via Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points. To find out about DVC, take a gander over to the DVC board here on the DIS.

If you haven't received anything in the mail yet (although, I think it will take more than a few months to receive something), you can always call DCL to find out what your Castaway Club numbers are.

I can relate to what you're saying. We just booked (a few days ago) a September 7-day cruise and all that was left for CAT11 - 8 were guaranteed status staterooms. We've cruised DCL a few times and are very picky about where our room is located. Unfortunately this time it is luck of the draw and we are crossing our fingers we are happy with our stateroom. I guess that's what happens when you book at the last minute like this.

Check out www.dcltribute.com to see if your stateroom is listed as noisy. Best of luck to you! :sunny:

I think that is a GREAT location. We were on the other side in 2020 and 2018. Those are our favorite rooms! I love not having to walk far from the elevator and going forward is better I think than the kids going down a L O N G hallway looking for the room. Also the hall widens there and we even parked our stroller out there many times rather than blocking our room up. You'll love that spot!

You can use DVC points .. but you can also use Hilton Grand Vacation Club timeshare points as well (that's what we used to book a 4 night Wonder this November).
