Points??

I posted this on two forums, because I wasn't sure which one to go with. My parents have a timeshare through RCI. If I don't want to use up their points, can we still book a Disney villa through RCI with a discounted rate, without using points? Sorry if it's a silly question, it just all pretty confusing. Thanks.

There are cash-only DVC rooms that full RCI members can book (are your parents full RCI members? Not all are)

Cash rooms are developer inventory. Points or week trades are member inventory.

I know it is a rule that RCI members cannot rent points/week trades into DVC, I do not know if that applies to cash rooms.

My employer has a discount portal that appears to give me access to cash RCI timeshare rooms, I'm not sure the discounts are worth it, though. (Did not seem to be cheaper than renting from a DVC member or AP discounts..)
