Points use question

If I schedule a vacation, but decide (more than 30 days out) I want to cancel do those points go back into my pool and I could bank them? Or am I now obligated to use those points at some point this year.

I have a trip scheduled for October and we are contemplating booking a second trip in May, but we also are thinking about having another baby, if I get pregnant and can't travel i would need to cancel the trip and bank it since I wont be able to travel for at least a year (I dont want to do Disney with a baby under the age of 1)

We have considered booking a trip for mid December 2007, like the last week before points sky rocket. But obviously we can't wait til Oct to book that. But that would be just a couple months after our Oct trip, might be too close together for us.

If you cancel at least 31 days out, assuming it is at a DVC resort, the points will go back into normal status for your use year and can be banked, as long as you are within the banking windows for your use year. Any borrowed points that may have been used for the ressie can not be banked, they'd have to be used by the end of the use year or lost.
