points transfer

I will be getting a points transfer from my niece. My question is when the points are transferred do they transfer into my use year or will they transfer and stay in my niece's use year?

Transferred points are supposed to retain their original Use Year and Home Resort status - they should not assume your Use Year or home resort. They can be banked for use the following Use Year.
