I read that when points are transferred into a receipient's account that they will maintain the resort and use year of their original owner. However, during research I also came across a reference where someone stated that after the transfer the system doesn't track this well and the points will be changed to show the recipient's use year and home resort.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Reason I ask is because I have 150 points in my Dec 2012 use year at BCV and I want to make a reservation for BCV in October 2013 now. However I need additional points 130 additional points and have a member with Dec 2012 use year at AKL willing to transfer. However DVC told me that I cannot make the full reservation until April which is 6 months out since not all the points will be in my home resort.

Thanks

Brian

used to be true many years ago. they updated the computer system. now you can no longer use AKV pts to jump in front of BCV owners.

you do realize that you can add to those 150 current/2012 UY BCV pts by borrowing 130 of your BCV pts from your 2013 UY to book a stay in oct 2013?

(just remember that those borrowed pts cannot be put back into your 2013 UY.)

Thanks chalee94.

I have 50 currently and already borrowing 100 from next year's use year.
