Points transfer question

Hi All,

I can't wrap my head around the point transfer process. Here is what we have done and what i want to do....

Our primary contract is a March UY with home status at BLT. We are adding on a 100pt contract also for BLT but with an April UY.

What I would like to do is just transfer the 100 pts into the primary once a year and use it as one big contract. I thought I had it worked out in my mind but reading another thread, it seemed that to transfer from one contract to the other they have to be the same UY. Am I ok in thinking I can just transfer the 100pts (April UY) into the larger contract (March UY) and use it as normal.

Thanks for your help. I am worried that I will make a mistake along the process...
 
If you have two different UY's, then each contract is a master and it's own membership.

Add on's only happen when they are the same membership. In those cases, you don't have to transfer between contracts because they are all under one. For example, I own 3 BLT contracts, all with a June UY. One is 130, one is 50, and one is 30. But, because they are under the same membership, they funtion as one big 210 point contract and there is nothing for me to do.

In your case, you will have to transfer because you will have different memberships and want to combine the points. Remember, the points, once transferred, will retain their own UY and banking deadlines, etc. And, it won't really matter which way you transfer but if you transfer April UY points to a March UY contract, they stay April UY points. Its not as simple as transferring and then using them as though they are all March UY points.

You will just have to keep track of what points you are using when you travel especially if you travel in March. For example, if you were to travel in March 2011, that would be during your 2011 UY for the March contract, but during your 2010 UY for April contract.
 
Awesome. Even though i was wrong we are still in good shape. We only go over Christmas each year. So once the April points are ok'ed each year we just will transfer them into the March account and use the whole pot of points for our Christmas stay. We don't plan to have many left over but since March and April are so close we will just bank everything when we hit the March deadline (October).

I keep reading everything i can in an attempt to get a strong grasp on the rules but ever once in a while i read a post that confuses me. Thanks for the help it is truly appreciated.
