points transfer question

This is my first year as a DVC member, and I have a question regarding some posts I've seen about transferring points to other people's accounts.

Here is my hypothetical question:

I have 55 points left that are banked BWV points and expire on 8/31/06. I was going to rent or transfer them. On the rent board, I saw someone else who has 55 banked SSR points that also expire on 8/31/06, and he was also trying to rent or transfer them.

Some previous posts have said something about when you transfer points, they don't have the banked or expiration date attached?? What does that mean exactly? Does that mean that if I transferred my 55 points to his account, and he transferred his 55 points to MY account, that neither of us would then have to worry about using them by 8/31/06? If not, what would become the NEW useage deadline??

Banked points can not be transfered, and you can only make a transfer transaction in one direction per contract. In other words, if you transfer OUT, you can not transfer IN in the same use year.
