Points to expire

I really messed up!!! I have 326 points that are going to expire at the end of THIS month! Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do with these points? I am just sick!

call MS TODAY. Book a reservation whatever you can get and list it for rent cheap on the Rent trade board.

I think, given the timeline, I would deposit them in to RCI...at least it extends your time frame to use the points, even if RCI can be tough to find desirable accommodations sometimes.

There likely won't be enough DVC rooms available to use all the points, and then having a fire sale on them wouldn't be worth the hassle to me personally.

Are these points that have already been banked from last year? If not, then I would call MS. Some folks have posted that MS will give a once in a lifetime waiver on banking window rules. Good luck!

Well jekjones was right! After several calls to ms, I followed Jean's advice and came right out and asked if they would make a one time exception. They were able to bank 320 of my 326 points! The six and been previously banked points. I still can't believe it. You can bet that I have every possible reminder in place to make sure I don't miss the banking window again! lol

I did first try the RCI deposit, but they were closed for deposits from my use year.

Glad it worked out. That is a lot of points to go to waste. Now you need to make sure that you use or rent them within the next year. Have fun planning!

Glad that you dodged the bullet!!! That would have hurt!!! I am a relatively new owner and didn't realize that you had to bank by a certain time... and almost had a heart attack when I called MS and found out I was a month late to bank!
They did grant me the one time exception and banked the points... I will never ever forget again!

Oh I'm so glad for you.

I was going to suggest a nice but last minute Grand Californian Concierge trip, while they are still letting you book the hotel rooms using DVC points, but now you have time to figure it out.
