How many points do you have????
Where is your "Home Resort???
How often do you travel to WDW and for how long???
Do you stay in a Studio, 1BR, 2BR, GrandVilla???

Just trying to feel things out because I'm undecided as to whether add more points to mine (have 180 now)

Check my answer to your other post in DVC Operations. As for us in particular, though SSR is our home resort, we've yet to stay there preferring VWL which we've been fortunate enough to get every time. We tend to stay five nights, Sun thru Thu, and we opt for a 2BR even though there is only wifey, daughter, and me. We like being able for our DD to have her own room. :thumbsup2 Then, we usually make a small trip elsewhere during the year. We went to HHI last year and will be doing a cruise this year. We have enough points to cover both trips with a few left to bank even.

One more thing to keep in mind. As you know, you can book 11 months out at your home resort, but if you do an add on at a different resort, you can't use those points at the 11-month point with your original home resort points. In other words, if you have 180 points at VWL and add on another 150 at SSR, you can only book VWL with 180 points 11 months out and SSR with 150 points 11 months out. You can, however, use all the points at the 7-month period for either resort, of course. Naturally, if you add on points at your original home resort, then all the points can be used 11 months out though you'd have to watch your UY in that case.

I only just bought my points during my Easter vacation. I have already used them for a trip in May. I go to WDW frequently so I don't think that I will always be able to stay at DVC. I think that I figured that If i always wanted to stay DVC I would have to own over 1000 points! Maybe one day!

Started with 175 on a purchase in February, added on 130 in April with the AP voucher promotion.

Home Resort is SSR - stayed there first time in May, LOVED IT.

This year, I have a total of 6 trips planned - 2 are NOT using DVC points (January and another May trip with DH for business). I am going in August (BWV), Sept (BWV), and November (SSR). Already have a January trip planned at SSR also, and still have some points left to either use next spring or bank for 07...undecided what to do with them. But we did get 05 points on our original contract and our addon, so I won't be able to travel like this every year! And I'll jump on a plane with DH anytime he takes a business trip near Orlando - I love using my AP even we aren't in a DVC resort!

The room size depends on whether we take one or both of our teenage boys with us. If we bring either one, we take a two bedroom. Just DH and I we usually take a one bedroom. September trip is a quick one - just 3 nights, and because it's a Friday and SAturday night, I took a Studio. (But I had to go to the Pin Event in Epcot, so.....)

As for length of stay - 5 nights is the longest we stay any more - and many trips are 4 nights...we go so often, and I'd rather go more often than for one long trip. It stays new and special when I break it up more. Plus, I always get MORE time going for shorter jaunts :teeth: And that maximizes the annual pass!

How many points do you have????
We purchased 160 point May 2005

Where is your "Home Resort???
Our Home Resort is SSR. But we really like to stay at BWV. I am thinking of purchasing a resell at BWV.

How often do you travel to WDW and for how long??? About 3 or 4 times a year. At least 3 on points.

Do you stay in a Studio, 1BR, 2BR, GrandVilla???
Mostly a Studio because DS is only 3. But has he get older, we plan on at least a 1 br.

How many points do you have???? 160
Where is your "Home Resort??? SSR
How often do you travel to WDW and for how long??? Once a year or maybe every other year?
Do you stay in a Studio, 1BR, 2BR, GrandVilla??? It will likely vary

We bought 160 initially because that's what we could afford, knowing we'd like to add on, which we're already doing! :Pinkbounc 60 points at BCV. So in a few days our total will be 220, though we're not really trying to combine them so much as get enough at each resort to bank & borrow for a full trip, alternating resorts. Does that make any sense lol?

DH and I are going for 5 days in June, staying in a studio at SSR. Our next trip in a year or so we'll be bringing our kids plus some extended family, so getting a 2br or GV, and probably staying about 10 - 12 days (that will take all our points at both resorts for a couple years). After that we have no idea! All we know as that we still want more points lol.

I just bought 210 points in May and I'm already thinking about adding 50 more with the AP promo! (I have to decide quickly though, b/c that ends 6/30)

I'm staying 3 times-in June at OKW, November and December at SSR. I booked 2 bedrooms all three times just because of the idea of staying somewhere really cool.

I'm traveling in value season so that makes a difference as well. If you have to work around a school calendar, you need more points.

How many points do you have????
We bought 160 last September and hope top add on soon.
Where is your "Home Resort??? SSR
How often do you travel to WDW and for how long???
We live in nearby Brandon (next to Tampa) so we can go often. I'll combine below.
Do you stay in a Studio, 1BR, 2BR, GrandVilla???
So far we have gone:
Sep 05 - 2 nights in 1 BR at OKW
Dec 05 - 3 nights in 1 BR at VWL
Jan/FEB 06 - 5 nights in 1 BR at BWV
APR 06 - 3 nights in Studio at SSR
and made reservations alreaddy for:
Dec 06 - 4 nights in 1 BR at VWL.

We purchased 200 points in 2004 at the Beach Club Villas. We were given two years worth of points and stayed that summer for one week in a 2BR villa (August). My daughter was married in 2005 and she and her husband stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Villas in a studio for one week. My husband and I are taking a solo trip to Old Key West this June and staying in a 1BR. We'll still have points left over from 2006 so will need to bank them. If we can't get a reservation at HHI next May I think we'll try something different-someone was just posting how much they enjoyed the Sagamore Hotel in NY. For us, 200 points is enough-we paid cash and I don't see us investing in additional points. We'd like to treat the kids to a trip in another year or so. Isn't it great how many options we have with DVC? :)

We are a family of 5 and we have 300-points, all at Beach Club Villas.

We usually travel in the summer because of our children's school schedule. :teacher: Since we travel in the summer, we usually need as many points as possible and always stay in 2-bedroom villas.

We have stayed at WDW at SSR, OKW and twice at BCV. We have also had an absolutley wonderful trip in 2005 to the DVC resort at Hilton Head, South Carolina. This summer in late July & early August, we will be spending a week in a 2-bedroom villa at Disney's Vero Beach resort in Florida, right on the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.

We love our Disney Vacation Club membership and make the most out of every trip.
