Sorry if these questions have been answered already, but if you stay at a DVC property by renting points from a member, are you still entitled to extra magic hours at the parks and the dining plan?
Thanks!:confused3

Yes, discuss this with the person that you are renting from. :goodvibes

:earsboy: Bill

Extra magic hours are a perk of staying at any Disney resort, nothing to do with DVC, so yes, you would be entitled to attend. Same with free theme park parking.

You can add the DDP to a DVC reservation, but it will have to be done for you by the owner of the points. It must be paid for in full when added, so you will have to work out with the owner how to pay for it (some have had renters send them a VISA gift card in the amount of the DDP, for example).

You do not have to purchase tix to add the DDP like you do for a regular cash reservation.

Thanks so much for the quick response. I use to consider myself a Disney expert, but after several years away from the "world" I feel lost.
Still looking to rent for next ***, so I may be a bit too early!;)

EDIT: This post has been edited to remove travel month, so as not to be considered a "Reservation Wanted" type post - Chuck S

Not that early, the 11 month booking window will be here before you know it.

It is not too early to start looking for an owner from whom you would be comforable renting. Be sure to look for a member that owns at the resort where you want to stay. Owners can book their home resorts 11 months out. Owners of other DVC resorts can book at 7 months out.

Thanks for that info! I am use to planning a year in advance with our Marriott timeshare. Is the best place to look for a resort removed owner on the Rent/Trade board?

Yes. You won't be able to post looking for an owner, but start watching as the new posts show up each day.
