Hi! I am trying to upgrade to a 2 bedroom standard view from a value view at AKL this Sept. I am just afraid the value view may be too small. Does anyone know if I can create a waitlist and then if comes through I can buy the additional points from DVC directly. I am 13 points short for the standard view and not sure what to do

One-time-use points are not available for waitlist reservations.

once you're within the 7month window, if the 2 bdrm is available I believe you could then use one time points.

Yes you need to be in the 7 month window but you cannot use a wait list for one time use points.

We have stayed in a 2 bed value with 4 adults and 2 kids and space was fine. More than that I would go with a standard.

right...what I was meaning was that if OP calls at the 7 month mark, there is availiblity..then OP could change the ressie and buying the one time points.

So it sounds to me like I am stuck with a value because I have already recieved a points tranfer once this year. Can anyone think of another way to make it work?

If you've had a "points transfer" from another dvc member, I don't think that means you can not buy the one time use points direct from DVC. I believe you could not, twice in the same UY buy one time points from DVC.

Not sure I understand the last comment - but the points you can buy from Disney at 7 months don't count as your transfer for the year, from what I understand.

Yes I meant since the standard is not available and I cannot waitlist it without the correct number of points I probably have no other options since I can only transfer in once a year.

You could waitlist fewer nights at the standard and then see if the additional nights were available. Or you could rent points for one of the nights at the value from a member with enough for the same night at the standard and have them waitlist that if they are willing.

Keep calling and if available book it. The points from MS do not count as a transfer from what I understand.
