Points plus cash can it be done?

Question for the list:

Planning a family trip in Oct 09 to AKV. Our plans are to reserve a one bedroom and two studios for the group. My question is I only bought 160 pts at AKV. I have banked 08 pts into 09. I would like to use only the banked pts and pay the diff in pts needed for the reservation with cash so that I may bank 09 pts into 10 to take an even longer vacation.

You can book as many days as you have points for and then inquire about the availability of cash rooms. If they aren't available right away, ask if they might be. They can usually tell you the likelihood of a certain time period being available for cash or not. Just be sure you have something else reserved if it starts to get close and you have no DVC reservations.
