I tried to look to make sure I wasnt asking something that has already been discussed but I dont see it...

I'm fairly new so I thought I'd ask you pro's out there...

I'm curious how they decide or why different resorts are a different amount of points to stay...
for instance...BLT for a wk in Spet is 103, and AKV is only 73 or 82?

Is it because BLT is so close and a monorail resort?

And speaking of AKV what is a value accommodation?

Sorry if these are dumb questions! Just curious how they decided how many points per resort.
Thanks!

You are correct, Disney feels that BLT is worth more than AKV. Value resorts are either bad views or smaller rooms. At AKV Jambo House, the value rooms are smaller rooms that were created when the original AKL rooms were converted to Villas.

It's the cost of the resort combined with what the market will bear.

Yes and since so many want to stay at a monorail resort, DVD was pretty sure they could sell lots of points for BLT. Therefore they are selling more points for BLT than usual. And since they are selling all those points, they have made the villas cost more to reserve.

And speaking of AKV what is a value accommodation?

The AKV value villas are a smaller in square footage. They are often villas that have a parking lot or pool view some have a partial savanna view. They are only at Jambo House.

AKV Kidani 2 BR - 1173 Sq. ft.
Jambo - 2 BR -1075 sq. ft. (945 for a Value 2 BR)

1BR
Kidani - 807 Sq. ft.
Jambo - 710 sq. ft. (629 sq. ft. for a Value 1 BR)

The value 1 and 2 BR's also do not have the third bathroom that is off of the living room.

No questions are dumb. Being afraid to ask is dumb. Questions are just a good way to learn more about the DVC.
