Points Guide for Port Orleans

A friend just used their points to stay at Port Orleans Riverside (unless I was hearing things which wouldn't be a first). But I can't find a chart anywhere that lists the number of points required to stay at PO or any of the other in park but nonDVC resorts. Is there one?

It's listed in our most recent vacation planner. Depending on when you want to go and the view you want, Sun-Thur range from 16 to 25 points per night. Fri-Sat go from 29 to 45 points per night. Hope this helps.

For Port Orleans? Wow. I thought it would be a lot less than OKW. We're staying there for 10 points per night in May. Where do I find your vacation planner?

Yes. I'm aware of that. Which is why I was asking. I thought I heard (actually I know I read somewhere although it could certainly have been wrong information) that DVC points could also be used at all other resorts in the park. Is this in fact wrong, is one question I'm asking, and--if it's not--where does one find a chart of points required for the nonDVC inpark resorts?

Thank you. That's really weird that it's more (almost double) to get a hotel room at Port Orleans than a studio at OKW. Thank you for the info, though. Guess I won't plan a trip to PO...

While we are on this subject -
if staying on points at the disney resorts (non-dvc) - do we get daily housekeeping?

(If my son cancels on us for our upcoming cruise - I might have some points that will become reservation points and will need to book at one of the disney hotels/resorts.)

Yes, you do.

Hope that doesn't happen, but if it does, you can also use reservation points for something in the Conceirge Collection or the Adventurer's Collection.

It's because you would be trading out of DVC. DVC then has to rent a room at one of the DVC resorts for cash to pay WDW for your room at PO. I'm sure they take a hefty transaction fee for doing the work (via CRO).

One word of warning - once you take points out of the DVC system (i.e. making a reservation at a non-DVC resort), they cannot be brought back if you decide to not go. They could only be used outside of DVC because DVC would have already started the process of sending a room to CRO.

I think you will find that using points for non-DVC resorts may not be the best use of them.

JMHO. YMMV
