Hi everyone! I have rented points twice in the past for BWV and have had a great time. Just wondering if I could rent points for cruises, and how many points are required? The points calculators and charts don't seem to mention cruises, but I've seen posts about using points for cruises! We are thinking about a 7 day eastern cruise Nov 15, category 11. Thanks, Jo

Jo,
Generally it is more expensive to use points to cruise than to just pay cash, the cruises are very point expensive. Additionally you can only book 11 months out which may prevent you from getting some of the more desirable rooms. In fact, many DVC members rent out their points and pay cash for their cruise because it is more economical.

For that cruise, you'd need 131 points each for the first two people in the cabin. After that, it would be 19 additional points for any children 2 and under, 57 points for children 3 - 12 and 83 points for all others in the same cabin (13 and older).

FWIW, you'll probably find it less expensive to pay cash, especially if you can book early.
