Can anyone tell me if they give a point discount when you rebook adn use points? I'm sailing May 1, 2005 and want to book for June 2006. I'll need 3 cabins and plan to use points for 2 and pay cash for the other cabin. Also, if you can't use points until 7 months before sailing, how do you "reserve" your cabins? Any information is greatly appreciated!

You can book a cruise with points 11 months in advance. You have to call DVC within 3 business days of getting off the ship to qualify for the point discount. They'll make a note, and then when you are within your booking window, you call back to make the actual ressie. DVC can't book a total cash cabin, so you'll have to book that on board yourself. The point discount isn't all that great though, I called DVC and inquired about it and was told the point discount is approx 14 per person.

Am I able to "book" or reserve a cabin in advance? Like could I pay a cash deposit to hold the cabin and then at the 11 month window, switch it over to the points and have the deposit transfered to the "cash" cabin? Since we need 3 cabins together, I have to know how to do that.
Thanks for your help! :worship:

You might be able to do this, but I'm not sure. You should call DVC and ask them. If you can't, you can always book the two cabins on points, and have DVC try to put them next to the cash cabin. If they can't, then have DVC ask DCL to put them next to an empty cabin, so you can then call DCL and have the cabin assignment on the cash cabin changed to be next to the points cabins. Also, make sure you have these reservations linked. If you don't, you might be assigned to different dining times.
