We haven't even closed on our DVC purchase yet and I'm already daydreaming about "how many points would it cost..." vacation scenarios. Most often my daydreaming happens while I'm sitting and waiting for one of the kid's team practices to end. (That's about 6 or 7 times per week.)

So...it just occurred to me...I'd love to have the DVC point charts on my PDA (Palm/Handsring/etc.) That would be a much easier way to carry the them around (my copy of of the sales brochure is literally falling apart). Each year Disney could offer the new point charts to members via a download from the members website.

What do ya think? How does Disney react to member suggestions? Would it be worthwhile to suggest/request this...after closing, of course?

:)

you could just download the pdf file and read it on your palmtop, or if you wanted to bad enough, just make it an excel spread sheet - I carry around a list of feature films as a spreadsheet like that.

There is a way to convert the program that Caskbill wrote in VB 6.0 to the Palm OS platform, but it would be difficult and somewhat complex. An easier method would be to convert it to Microsoft's PalmPC format, since it uses the same language and a very similar OS platform. Of course, this would only work if you use the PalmPC platform, like the Compaq iPaq, the HP Journada, or the Dell Axim.

it isn't even that hard though - the dvcmember.com website has them as .pdf files - just open them and click to save and put them in your my_pocketpc folder, and they will sync up next time. or jusr use ie/avantgo for that matter.

this is fun actually because i am playing right now on a new tablet pc, so when i went to double check the pdf files i saved them on here - iam sure that they will be WAY more readable on this than a pocketpc screen. I saved pdf files of a conference i was attending a couple of yrs ago ad they were very hard to read on the pda screen. but they would be better than nothing i guess.

Well here here are two my favorite subjects palms and Disney.......

Option 1.
Yes you could download the PDA file with the Adobe for your PDA. The problem there is image quality and the size of the file and reader. This is probably the fastest and least difficult method.

Option 2.
Use your Avango account and link to one of the non-disney websites that has the information. Make sure to turn graphic off. This probably will not look as good but will take up far less room.

Option 3.
I like the idea of using Documents to Go (it should have come with your pda) and make a tiny Excell Spread Sheet.

Option 4.
Make a Notepad document and use that. It will have the info, be small, require using no special external viewer etc.

By the way if you have ThinkDB do I have the database for you. All park attractions, trip planning, most resturant menus etc. Just let me know where to send it. It also has an MS Access desktop and conduit.
