points+ cash stays? booking the same?

Hi! You guys have all been a big help to me, and now I have another question. What I want to do, is book a week in February 9-16 from Sat to Sat, then a cash night on the night of the 16th (Sat) and points again for the Sunday- I don't have enough points fort hat 3rd weekend day. So do I call on March 16th to reserve the room for the week, then call back on the 17th to add the cash night and back on the 19th (18th is Sunday) to add my final points night? I own SSR, so would I be okay to wait until the 19th to do it all?
What if at 7 months I want to change it? can I change the whole thing the same way? Or can I maybe just change the week portion and then just move to SSr for the last 2 nights? Any help is appreciated! We are making out first trip home in just 23 days!

There is always the possibility that there wouldn't be anything available for cash reservations. How about borrowing from next year to get enough points to make the whole reservation?

We are staying DVC Sun-Thurs, and then I want to stay at FW on points F-M. I know I can book my home resort at 11mths, non-home at 7, how about Disney Collection? When I book home resort or different guidelines? I am thinking I should know this, maybe it is just late and I'm tired and I'm missing the obvious place to look, but I am at a loss.

PS: I realize that I could rent the pts out and stay cheaper at FW on cash, but we have extra pts from an incentive we "need" to use and it isn't worth it to us to mess around with renting and then booking w cash.

You can book the Disney Collection resorts at 11 months - same as a home resort.

You should be able to book all of the "points" nights on the 19th. No need to call day by day for that week at SSR (no matter what size unit you want).

You nay be able to book the cash night at that time as well, but maybe not. Just depends on what MS has in the "inventory". If it is not available or if the member cash discount is not available, you just have to call back periodically and hope to get lucky. FWIW, I really don't think you will have a problem getting your cash nights at SSR even if they aen't available when you first call.

You can make changes at 7 months if you wish. The cash nights are held with a credit card and can be cancelled with a phone call - I think up until the day before you arrive. But verify that with MS when you first make the reservation.

Again, availability for cash is not guaranteed. If you decide to switch, you may or may not be able to get cash nights at the 7 month resort. You can certainly change the points portion (subject to availability) and move to SSR for the last 2 nights (keep the cash nights there) if you so choose.

MS told me 6 days or more no penalty, 5 days or less 1 nights penalty.

I just booked 2 nights points 2 nights cash no discount ( yet ) and one more night with points. Linked them all through .

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I think that I have just decided to downgrade for the last 2 nights to a Studio, I have enough poiints for that, and weare only 4 people so it shouldn't be a problem. And if I do switch at 7 months, I will probably stick with the last 2 nights in a studio at SSR anyway. Thanks again for the help!
