DH & I are starting to think about next year's vacation already and are looking at ABD to Germany (Adult only). While I believe that they got rid of the incentive to book early for less points (correct me if I'm wrong about that) I still am thinking I want to jump on it when they new schedules come out for 2012 here soon. We will have enough points to book one of us completely on points and will pay for the second person. Do I do that through DVC or can I take advantage of some of the specials that Dreams or other companies offer for the 2nd person? Other suggestions to get the most for paying for the second person? I sometimes ready about specials/incentives for the Disney Credit cards (although we get miles and really love than because it makes most trips cheaper by not costing us airfare). Thoughts? Oh, and we really don't think we want to go through the hassle of renting our points even though I do know that's probably the best way to go...

Thanks!
Kelly

I can't answer your question about DVC points, but I've had a Disney Visa for several years and the only incentive they've offered is 6 months with no interest.

If you use DVC points for any part of the reservation you would have to book the whole reservation through member services. Otherwise it would be treated as two separate reservations and you woudl each pay the solo supplement. If you use points when you book it you will have to pay for the cash part in full when booking if you weren't going to use points and you were paying cash for the two people then you would only have to put down a deposit and full payment isn't due until 90 days prior to departure.

The 6-month no interest does not apply on the Disney credo card if the booking is made through DVC member services, FYI. It's really paid upfront.

As others have said, if you book any portion of your Adventure through DVC, everything must be booked through DVC.

In addition, any cash portion must be paid in full at the time of booking.

There are no incentives or promotions for booking through DVC.

i paid for my egypt adventure (12/27/11-1/3/12) about 2 weeks ago.....1/2 points, 1/2 cash (due at time of booking)....we got a discount on points....they didnt say why...adult was supposed to be 593points and it was discounted to 509!

I hope we get a discount on points if we book early. I am thinking on booking Egypt for 2013 for two of us all points. 2012 is listed for over 836 points per person.
