points at AKV?

It depends on both category and season.

It ranges from a low of 8 points, weekday, "Value" category in Adventure season, up to a high of 45 points, weekend, "Concierge" category, in Premier season.

Counting weekdays, weekends, the five disney seasons, and the 4 categories (Value, Standard, Savanna, Concierge), there are 40 different point amounts that apply.

On the DVC-Mousecellaneous board, there are a couple of threads where the point charts are shown, or, if you're a member, you can go to the DVC members board online.

Thanks we want a studio 7 nights, the second week in sept. next year. I know it is early. I mostly was wondering if they were higher to rent than other places. Thanks. Are they posted somewhere?

Thank you so much. I think we will try a CC studio. Any idea what the difference is?

That's 13 points a night weekdays. Is that what you are asking? If you are asking what the rooms are like, none of us can answer that just yet, because Disney has not yet released the room layouts of the different levels. I suspect all will be the same except that the CC and values in the main lodge will be smaller than those in the AKV lodge. That is what my guide has told us.

As a renter, don't get your hopes up to high. So far it's been reported there will only be 5 CC rooms. They will go fast.

You'd need to find someone who owns AKV points, and you can expect they'll want a premium price for that reservation.

The chances of you getting a Concierge studio as a renter are unfortunately slim to none those are probably going to be going to members first before they go to renters. Seeing as there are only 5 units available, those will probably be taken by members 99% of the time. :(

If a renter somehow gets into one of the CC rooms, PLEASE do not report it here. That would be information we do not need to know! I just shudder to think how many posts will have to be deleted if that happens.

We are buying a resale contract now, and are expecting to close by mid april- any idea when the AKV can be booked for a trip? DO you think they will be booked solid for the month of september?

Ain't that the truth! :scared1:

Why is this bad? Just curious. Thanks for everyones advice/ tips. We will try for a savanah view and if not we may try BC or WL.

 Perhaps we should get a "smiley diving into a foxhole" for that. Alot of work for you mods if that happens.

Forgive us monami7...we didn't mean to hijack your thread. It's just that there are only going to be a total of 5 CC rooms available in the entirety of AKV. So, interested DVC members are already a little nervous about availability.

I was suprised to see the point requirement for those rooms as well, they are much lower than I would have expected.

Many DVC owners have paid thousands of dollars to add on at AKV in hopes of snagging a concierge villa once in a while. Booking one could turn out to be almost as difficult as winning a night in the castle! If an AKV owner who got lucky and managed to book a concierge-level villa did so just to rent it out to the highest bidder, it will cause some very heated reactions here.

Or maybe a smiley holding a fire extinguisher so we can help the mods put out the flames.

LOL, Carol! You guys will be kept extra busy trying to police that one!! You do know that someone is renting AKV points already on the rent/trade board!:scared:

I would think the only way a renter is going to get a CC room is if some owner "speculates" and reserves it and changes the names on the ressie later on. I certainly HOPE that isn't the case. I'll be a small point owner there, and I'm thinking it will be next to impossible for me to get a CC room!

If it's the one I saw, he wants $16 per point. Good for him if he can get it. It will be interesting to see if he gets any takers, but I doubt we will know.

Personally, I don't care if owners rent their points, even if it's on spec for the most desirable rooms or dates - as long as they are following the same rules as everyone else and not morphing points in any way. It doesn't bother me if others agree with me or don't agree with me.

As a mod, I care very much when posters start name calling, making personal attacks and otherwise violating Board Posting Guidelines. This particular subject (renting) tends to bring out the worst in some posters. I was hoping a little humor would keep this thread from getting out of control.

My sincere apologies to the OP - you have done absolutely NOTHING wrong.
