points and cash stay

Can anyone tell me how it works to make a reservation using points for the weeknights and cash on the weekend nights. I thought I read about it but can't locate the thread.
Is it possible?
Can it be done in one reservation so we don't have to move rooms?
Can it be done at 11 months?

You call MS and ask if you can make a cash reservation for the weekends. There may or may not be a member discount. Only MS can link the cash/ point ressies.

If you book the cash night(s) through MS, you will not have to change rooms. It will look like one continuous reservation to the DVC resort. There will be no need to check out and back in again between the points and cash reservations - MS will link them for you. Housekeeping is the same as a points reservation.

There is not always availability for cash nights through MS. If you are lucky, you might also get a member's cash discount - that's 25 % off the rack rate for the room. You do have to pay tax on cash nights.

You can book the cash night(s) at 11 months if there is availability. It is more likely that there won't be availability until closer to the date. IF at first you don't succeed, you have to call back periodically and keep trying.

Cash through MS is treated like a points stay in essentially every aspect other than how it's compensated. This includes housekeeping, check in, etc.

If you make the cash reservation through MS, then housekeeping is the same as a stay on points. If you make a cash reservation thru CRO, then you would get daily housekeeping, but as mentioned before, the reservations can't be "linked" if the reservation is thru CRO. HTH

I once did Friday & Saturday on member cash at OKW, then Sunday to Thursday nights on points. Friday counted as day 1 of my stay, so trash & towel was Monday. I got keys & parking permit Friday to Friday.

Another time I did Sunday to Thursday on points, then Friday on an AP rate. When I checked in on Sunday, my keys & parking permit were only Sunday to Friday. On Friday morning I had to go to the front desk and get new keys & parking permit for Friday night (stayed in same room). I did get full housekeeping on Friday. Had to pay the non-member rate for phone calls.

There are some room categories that cannot be booked with member cash - standard & boardwalk view at BWV and the 2 bedroom/2 queen room at BCV.

I went to Disney's website and put in my dates for room only under reservations. They list the price day by day.
