Similar issues with DD. Not meltdowns but more like over friendly/in your face, hugs/talks to strangers etc. (yes, they have a safety plan in place at school and she takes a social skills class

). She is 8 and when she was little these behaviours were considered cute, now that she is older, people consider the behaviours odd more then anything.
Due to her outgoing/over friendly nature, she had a ton of cm interaction at WDW (whether they wanted the interaction or not

. I think that the WDW resort cms have probably had more training then the average hotel employee regarding special needs children. All of the cm's who interacted with DD handled her over friendliness very well and didn't look at her as if she was odd, whereas others in the hotel industry have looked at her strangely in the past.
Doesn't WL have an awesome playground? Would it be possible for you to take Jake there during meltdowns, or for a big walk? For DD, distraction helps at the beginning of a similar situation, then it won't escalate into something.
I hope others have reccommendations for you but I wonder if you might want to consider emailing guest services about the situation and asking their opinion of this, or even faxing WL a few days before arrival and ask them to note this info. on your ressie. Also, maybe you could fax/call WL a few days before arrival and ask for an end room (and why). That way you would only have neighbours on one side.
As I said above, I hope other can offer some advice.
