Point transfers - home resort???

I need to book for Christmas at 11 months out and need to do a point transfer from another member to have enough. My question is, does the home resort remain the same from the transfer, or do the points transferred become my home resort - for example, we own at WLV, but want to reserve at AKV - do we transfer from someone who owns at AKV and are still able to do the 11 month window, or do I need to transfer from someone who owns at the same resort we own at and try and get a villa there for Christmas??? If anyone understands anything I just said, please reply if you know!
