Point Transfer

Hi,

We are trying to read and understand point transfers. If we wanted to book a trip today for Sept 22 - Oct 7 and have points transferred from someone whose points are good from June 2010 - May 2011 are we OK? Also, are you allowed to pay someone for transferred points? Through reading the info you are not? Obviously people do pay for it. What am I missing?

Transfered points retain their orginal use year. In your example, those June 2010 points could be used for a Sep 2010 trip (assuming you could find the room you want this close to the trip). Also note that transfered points, once you receive them, can be banked as long as you are still within the banking window of the transferor.

Officially you are not allowed to pay or receive payment for the transfer of points. Unofficially, members often do it and DVD has to date not taken actions to prevent it.
