Point transfer question

Hi, hoping someone can help me...we've never attempted a point transfer.

Can you transfer points if the points are currently in a holding account? The travel would occur within that window.

Only points that are in a holding account and NOT banked/borrowed can be transferred. Currently the other member would be able to bank them EVEN if you are past your banking deadlines.

The "no banking or borrowing of holding account points" is stated on page 16 of the 2007-2008 planner. I do not know of any recent cases in which points lost their holding status after a transfer.

It sounds as though you believe the rule is not evenly applied. If so, that is what you should state. I'd hate to have someone make plans that depend on getting an inexperienced CM or one who will ignore the rule.

I know of a number of exceptions of use year, home resort and banking of holding account points but your caution is appropriate, thanks for the further clarification.

So, this is possible.....

and we may or may not be able to bank any? I guess that part doesn't matter, as we'll be using all of the points we would have transferred, and borrowing from our next use year after we use the transferred points.

Keep in mind that holding account points may only be used to book a stay that will occur 60 days or less from the date you make the reservation. Availability is often quite limited once you get to the 60 day mark.

If I were having holding account points transferred into my account, I would first make sure that there was availability for the dates, resort and unit type I planned to reserve.
