Point Transfer - Not Home Resort

Hi.

I own at SSR. If someone transferred BLT points to me in the correct Use Year, would I be able to make ressies at BLT 11 months out?

yes, BLT pts would remain BLT pts if they were transferred. you could use them at 11 months out to book BLT (but not at 11 months out for SSR/THV).

you would probably not be able to see them online, though, so you'd have to call MS to make the reservation.

So, it is in my best interest to get the transfer if I can, correct?
If I wanted to book BLT for December 27-29, 2014, what question would I need to ask the person that would transfer the points to me?
Would it be a 3 way call with MS and I could just double check with them the points can be used?

If someone books the ressie for me, even though my name is on the ressie, they can technically cancel on me up to that day and have my money, is that correct too?

Booking BLT for Dec 2014 time frame is going to be very iffy, at this point. Unless you find someone that will rent you their reservation and they already have it booked.
The one time I did a transfer, we did a 3-way call. Others on the DIS have reported just the person doing the transfer needs to call MS. Others have done it by e-mail to MS.

As of last night there was a one bedroom Lake View for my dates.
Fingers crossed still there.
