I have been using a point tracking program for several years now, and just love it, DVC Points Manager.

I just got a new computer and have moved all the program files over, but when I open it up, none of my data is there. I am not sure where to look for the data file, and I do have access to my old computer, thru the end of today, so I need help.

I am not sure who to contact either, can anyone help?

I assume you are talking about Dave Frederickson's DVC Planner software? I have that as well since that's what I used to use to track DVC point usage. I was at the software download site but don't see any contact information for him. And I guess no Help info on the software itself?

You might want to print everything out in case you have to rebuild your database. I'd also recommend checking out Caskbill's DVC Tracer software at www.caskbill.com.

Good luck!

Yes, Frederickson's program is what I am using, and I cannot find any contact information. I couldn't find a data file in that program's folder on my old computer, either.

I was afraid that I would have to re-enter my information (8 years worth) :headache: :headache: :headache:

Dave's program does not use an installation program, so all the files should still be there unless you deleted them.

His 'data' files end with the extension .DVC

Look for files like:

Header.DVC
Detail.DVC
Property.DVC

also look for DVCManager.ini

Those are the primary files you want to move from your old computer over to your new computer.

I'm not that familiar with how he designed the program so don't know if there are any other 'key' files required to be moved over to the new computer.

Hope this helps
