Honestly, if you're a Canon lover, get a Canon. No use getting something else that you may end up looking for flaws in or comparing to what you didn't get. There isn't enough of a difference between P&S cameras nowadays - they're all decent enough, and none are great - any brand should achieve what you need it to achieve. Some might say that neither of the two you mentioned are the best examples of the P&S genre right now, and that there are many other brands worth considering, but you've already stated a bias for Canon products...and they're at least as good in the P&S market as any other, so stick with what you're happy with.
