That's a matter of opinion, LOL.

IMO, the DIS is a great site. If you prefer to go through a broker, David's and the TSS are highly recommended.

If I were not a DVC member, I would inquire through friends, relatives or co-workers to see if anyone is a member(watch out...we are everywhere) and rent through them.

Davids is a great way to rent but you will pay for that convenience and security, which is something you can get for free through friends, relatives and co-workers.

How short is too short of notice to try and rent points in your opinion? We just found out today we can squeeze in a trip between now and Feb 6,2014. Are we crazy to even try to find something on this short of notice?

that is very late notice. you can check with david. he sometimes does last minute rentals (usually only at SSR). a lot of individual owners don't want to take the risks and hassle associated with such short notice.

I just rented $8 points from TSS. Had to be used by 1/31. Got a Jambo value studio & night at SSR
