Point rentals to non members

I am new to this whole idea of renting points from DVC members to non-members. It sounds like a great money saving idea. How would I go about placing a bid for points or renting points from a member? Can you put a $ figure on these threads and see if someone would respond or is there a particular website that I should go through?

If you haven't already, read all of the information in the Sticky Threads at the top of the Rent/Trade Forum. Read a few of the postings on the Rent/Trade Forum to get a feel for things. Then ask any specific questions you may have here on this Forum.

As CarolMn mentioned, go to the Rent/Trade Board and either look for an owner that was posted points for rent that would be applicable for the time/resort you want to visit...or initiate a post yourself stating when you want to travel, where you want to stay, and what accomodations you need. You can list whatever amount you are willing to pay, but if it is an amount that equates to less than $10 per point -- don't be surprised if no one responds.

expect to rent at around $10 per point. That seems to be the going rate. Just go to the DVC site and look at the time you want to go and the point charts and go from there.

Watch out renting can get you addicted, I did and now own 200 points at BWV.
