What is general price to rent points? Also what determines the point price? Do they go up during demand periods and less later? Are some resorts worth more than others?

Does the price increase each year with inflation? What makes a good rental?

First off, I have never been a renter or rentee.
Based on the information here on the DIS:
What is general price to rent points?
8$ and up
Also what determines the point price?
Location and size of the resort.
Do they go up during demand periods and less later?
DVC demand usage is different than WDW.
High use times: mid-Jan through mid-Sept, except around holidays it goes to Very high use times.
Very high use times: mid-Sept through mid-Jan
Are some resorts worth more than others?
Depends upon the opinion of the renter and rentee.
Does the price increase each year with inflation?
I can not answer this question.
What makes a good rental?
A price point at which the renter and rentee agree.

I think the cost per point is is about the same for each resort--- the difference is the amount of points needed to reserve different locations.... as in a themepark view studio at BLT is a lot more points than a studio at OKW.

I think 8 a point is very low, unless they are distressed points.
It seems more like 10 and up.

While that's true, the cost per point is usually more if the renter wants to book a popular resort/time before the 7 month window opens. For example, if you want to be sure of getting a BCV or BWV reservation during Food & Wine, the renter needs to find someone who owns points at those resorts. Owners tend to charge at the higher end of the range to make a reservation for those resorts before the 7 month window opens. It's not unusual for some booking categories to sell out before the 7 month window opens. Also, it seems that many owners are asking at the higher end of the range for the VGF. That resort appears to be difficult to get at 7 months for most times of the year.

I agree, but IMO, $11 is the new average cost - that 's the price that is relatively easy for owners to get by allowing the brokers to use their points.

Anything $10 or under can be tough to find - as you say, most owners don't reduce the price until the points are distressed in some way, usually because they are about to expire or have a 60 day booking restriction. Availability ends up preventing them from closing the deal. DVC is often difficult to use for short notice reservations - no space left, it's all sold out.

The price per point depends on who is getting the money. If an individual is making the reservation using their own points, they might ask anywhere from $6 to $15 per point, depending on what they feel.

If a broker is used, the broker gets their cut out of the price and give the owner the majority of the money. But when it gets harder to get owners to rent out their points, the broker might have to raise the price they are asking to give the owner a bigger cut of the money. And when they have owners who can't rent out their points, they offer special deals for $8 or so a point for 30 days out. Again the broker gets their cut and gives the owner the rest.

GFV, GCV points available at 11 months out? You are going to pay more. SSR, AKV or OKW points available at 30 days out, you are going to pay less.
