Point Holding question

Day #31. However, DVC is currently allowing members to cancel inside of 30 days and the points do not go into holding. That could change at any time.

31 days or more prior to check in to avoid holding status. But, as mentioned, DVCM has temporarily suspending holding so cancels less than that have points going back in the same status they were used in the reservation.

They are also currently returning borrowed points, but they are not allowing any late banking so if you free up points from the UY of the trip but are beyond banking window, those will still expire at the end of the UY.

When you go to cancel online, there is a note that indicates If the temporary policy is still in effect,

But, it is something to consider since you could go past the 31 days and then find out it was changed back to normal. I would hope that DVC will give us notice and I think someone said they were told we would be given it.

Normal rules, yes. During the temporary rule changes due to Covid, no.

I've never had to deal with points in holding before. We have a Dec UY so **IF** the current holding waiving is suspended we cancel and points move to holding we would have until November 30 of this year to use those points, right? Could those points be re-allocated to current existing reservations?
