in the vacation planning at dvc.com you will find all the types and points totals. Lots of different locations to pick from.

I found them in the points calculator.

You have to go under interactive points chart to find the information. They are more points than the other resorts of course, but not out of reach.

I looked up September of next year... typically considered the "value season" for a standard room (cheapest possible)... 12 per weeknight and 23 per weekend night. Almost the same as BCV at 12 and 22 for the same nights in 9/09.

Three different views: standard, lake and MK...

When I check 8/16-8/17 (Sunday/Mon) for a studio, I get
Standard 14 pts
Lake 19 pts
MK 22 pts.

the comparitive value of the points is the best thing about this thing.....

and will most likely make it impossible to get unless you buy in.

12 points at contemporary with tons of food and activities within walking distance, train, or boat....

....or 11 a night at Saratoga?

hmmmmm......let me think:headache:

We are considering BLT mainly for NYE. I checked Christmas 2009 to get points for a Studio in Premier Season on a weekend.
Standard 38 points
Lake 40 points
MK 48 points

Been playing with it. Three views, standard, lake, and Magic Kingdom. The Magic Kingdom view is going to be at a huge premium. The point cost is significantly above others most times of year. Example: for Magic Season BWV preferred, VWL and BCV are 14 points per night during the week for a studio, BLT will be 17 for a standard view, 19 for a lake view and 22 for MK view. For a 2BR same time during the week BWV preferred, VWL and BCV are 40 points per night, BLT will be 41 for standard, 46 for lake view, and 56 for MK view.

Except for MK view, they also have lowered the weekday to weekend ratio, i.e., for standard and lake view weekend cost during Magic Season is actually close to or lower than BWV preferred, VWL and BCV depending on room size. BLT studio weekend cost during Magic Season will be 26 standard, 28 lake, 36 MK whereas those other three are 32 for a studio. Look at this way if you are a 2BR person and go during Magic season for a week-- BWV preferred, BCV and VWL are 350 points a week, BLT will be 351 for a standard 2BR, 388 for a lake view, and 468 for that precious MK view.

I was just playing with the calculator too. We have a value 1 BR at AKL booked for June (252 points) so I put in our dates for BLT MK view. OUCH! 474 points. LOL. We could, however, get a Studio MK view for 250, so that is better. I need to play around with some other months. I definitely want to stay there one day!

I agree that the points chart (so far as I see it) seem to be in line with the other resorts such as BCV or VWL. However, I suspect that the first few years it will be very difficult to get at less than 11 mths, but eventually will be the same as the other comparable resorts. I am interested in adding on, but I think I'll wait until the incentives are better. Besides, I'm still waiting for Polynesian to become DVC.;)

That's us. I dont really want BLT for an entire week, but for sure would take a BLT MK View studio over a 1BR AKL any day for the same points.

Can someone post the point chart on here. I cant find it on the website. Is it that only members can view the chart?

there is not currently a point chart anywhere. there is a pt calculator on the member site where these guys are getting their numbers...

the pt chart will be up within a day or two, i'm sure.

I clearly have way too much time on my hands as I checked studio through 2 bedrooms for ever season with every view. Someone stop me.:rotfl: This is what I got overall the Magic Kingdom and Lake views are more expensive but with the standard view you can actually save a few points. Now I just have to convince DH.

no dumpster??? :lmao: Seriously, if that's the worst of it, then the point cost seem like an excellent deal. :thumbsup2

I agree!! :thumbsup2

Posted this on another thread, but thought it applied:

I was pretty excited to see the points actually.

We have an 8 night trip planned for April/May 2009 at BCV, 2 BR. When I used the point calculator for the same trip at BLT, 2BR standard view the points were EXACTLY the same -- 366!!

Now, I know it is standard view and I am a bit confused why the computer let me plan a trip that won't be possible (BLT opens in September 2009!!) but it was nice to see that it was doable!

So anyone want to venture what the "standard" view will be???

Anyone's guess but I suspect it is only some low level rooms looking at Contemporary. Someone reported call with MS this morning in which they said 20% will be MK view, 69% lake view, and only 11% standard. Thus, if you are planning to buy to get standard view, which will have point cost only a little higher than BWV preferred, VWL or BCV, you are going to be looking at rooms that will disappear quickly exactly 11 months out.
