Point canceling question

We are hoping to book GC at the 11 month mark for 4-6 days for June 10. We aren't sure if we need the extra days or not yet.

We have 2 GC contracts and 1 BLT purchased at the same time.

What happens to those points (they will be borrowed points as we have another trip planned with this year's points) if we cancel those last two days?

We have a February use year.

Any points you borrow from your 2012 use year to make reservations in 2011 will remain in your 2011 use year and can NOT be returned to your 2012 use year. Those borrowed points will have to be used by January 31, 2012.

In re-reading your post, it looks to me like you are booking this June vacation for 2012, which would be inside your 2012 use year, NOT your 2011 use year. If that's the case, then you just book with the 2012 points, and if needed, you can borrow from your 2013 use year.

Any points borrowed into your February, 2012 Use Year and later cancelled will still need to be used by January 31, 2013 or they will expire.

If you should need to cancel the last 2 days, the points could still be used for travel before 1/31/13.

As you say you are booking at the 11 month mark, I assume you're talking about June 2012, not June 2011? If that is the case, the trip will be in the February 2012 use year.

If you are borrowing points from your Feb 2013 use year, those points can not be unbanked. If you cancel the reservaton at least 31 days before arrival, your borrowed points will become normal status pionts in your 2012 use year, and will need to be used or lost by January 31, 2013. If you cance 30 days or less prior to arrival, they become holding stauts points and can only be used for reservations booked 60 days or less prior to arrival, and must be used for travel before January 31, 2013.

If you are using 2012 use year points, and you cancel 31 or more days before arrival, they return to normal status and can be banked to 2013.

Remember you can only use home resort points during the 11 month priority window, meaning you could only use GC points to book a GC reservation at 11 months, not your BLT points.
