So lets see, if I want to go to BLT which is my home resort on June 23 of 2012, I can make my reservation on July 30 of 2011 based on the 11 moth rule.
When it comes to points I have my current points which I will bank by March, My 2011 points which I will get in April and can I borrow points from 2012?

Appreciate and input if I got thanks wrong. I am a new DVC member so trying to integrate what I have read into actual planning.

You can book on July 23 for a June 23 reservation (up to 7 nights).


The other I don't know because you didn't say what use year you have (oh - I saw later that it was stated in a way in the post - oops!)

It sounds like you have an April 2011 UY. If that is the case, you should have already banked those 2010 UY points. The banking deadline for April UY is November 30th.

If you did not do that, than I would call MS and beg them to give you the one time super secret (that everyone knows about) exception and let you bank past the deadline.

Assuming I am correct that your UY is April, the easiest way to know what you can use is first, determine the use of travel. A June 2012 trip will take place in your April 2011 UY. That means you can use banked 2010 points, 2011 points, and borrow 2012 points to complete the reservation.

As PP mentioned, you can call July 23rd to book. The 11/7 rule is exactly 11 or 7 months from the date--no adjusting for 30 vs. 31 days.

If you have an April Use Year, you need to bank points from the current Use Year by the end of November. If this is the case (April Use Year) you should call MS and plead ignorance and ask if they will grant you a reprieve and allow banking your 2010 points.

For a trip in July, 2012 , you will be in your 2012 Use Year (April 1, 2012 - March 31, 2013), you may use points banked from your 2011 Use Year, points current in 2012 and points borrowed from your 2013 Use Year. You could not use points banked from your 2010 Use Year (if your Use Year begins in April).
