Well just had to post this as we were very upset with POFQ. Late arrival/check in 1:30 a.m. Check in went quicky. Got into our room unpacked, showered and turned down the sheets only to find that they were DIRTY ! Never changed. Ladies pantyhose on the floor along with papers ! First time we stayed at FQ always have stayed at CBR. We were in Bldg. #7. The Mousekeeper we had was HORRIBLE ! Did a horrible job. Ran out of toilet tissue and kleenex. She never left backup toilet tissue. One day we ran out had to call Hskpg. X4 for someone to bring some to our room. It was just a HORRIBLE experience. Not certain if we'd ever stay there again. Don't let them fool you, the entire place was not rehabbed. The showers/bathroom was NOT rehabbed. New carpeting, mattress, bedspread and perhaps freshly painted walls. That's it. Think it's back to CBR for us !

Sorry your trip was not all it was expected to be. POFQ never really applied to me and this just adds to it. I hope your future trips are better.

Does anyone have any other opinions of POFQ they would like to share with those of use considering staying there?

I too am considering POFQ / POR. I would love to see more responses to this question.

We ar going next week and very excited. I have heard very good things about it recently on here. At every resort you wil hear the good and the bad.

I am sorry that you were disappointed. Did you talk to the manager to express your displeasure?

Stacey

This post has got me really worried - thought I'd found the perfect moderate - all newly refurbished and all - please post your honest opinions those of you who have stayed there recently.

It's NOT too late to express your dismay to the people who can change the situation. Call the manager of POFQ and write to Disney directly. Tell them in specific detail what happened and when. If you take the time to do it you'll feel better and you'll do a service to those who will follow you.

We just got back from POFQ and had a great time. We were in building #2 and never had any problems. Our mousekeeper was great. We would definetly stay there again. We actually stayed there and the YC. Out of the two of them, we enjoyed ourselves more at POFQ. I'm sorry that you did have as good a time.:earsgirl:

We just returned from 6 nights at POFQ (4/24-4/30). We stayed in bldg 5 and had a great time. Our Mousekeeper was excellent and surprised us twice with towel animals in the room. She gave us lots of extra toiletries and the room was immaculate. I saw no problems with the bathrooms. The tile was clean and had a "new" appearance with mold-free grout. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

I just booked me and my DH for 10/30-11/6, I have always
wanted to stay here, it has alot of positives to it.

I also recently stayed at FQ and found it to be very nice. We stayed in building 4 which was wonderful as it was close to both the food court and also the bus stop. Our room was very clean and it was evident that had recently been rehabed. Our mousekeeper left us towel animals 3 days and we always had plenty of toilet paper and shampoo/soap. We loved POFQ and will definately be staying there again.

I just returned from 14 days at FQ. Overall I liked the resort. I liked the theme of the place and thought it was pretty clean.

After reading here about how they don't change the bedspread or blankets after each guest, we really checked the beds good. We found about 5 hairs on the first pillow we looked at. Then we pulled the bedspread back and found a stain and a lot more hair.

I had called to request bedrails and when the guy came to deliver them I asked him if he could change all the linens on both beds because they were not clean. At first he said that I would have to call back and request it and maybe someone would come around 9:00 pm to do it. Then I reached into my pocket and handed him $15 and asked again if he would be able to do it. He got a big smile on his face and said, sure I'll do it for you right now.

He completly stripped both beds including the matress pads and brought some extra pillows and blankets too. I think this is something I'm going to do from now on.

I found the floor to be dirty in the bathroom and sink area. I sprayed the floor down with lysol and wiped it with a towel. When I was done the towel was covered with hair and dirt. Then I went through the whole room and sprayed everything down with the lysol and wiped it clean with a towel. It took all of about 3 min. After that the room felt fresh and clean.

Mousekeeping was average, I guess it could have been a little better.. We got towel animals 3 times. Our room was cleaned late just about everyday, but that did not bother me too much. I know everyone can't have thier room done early, some body has to be last.

Overall I liked the resort and would stay there again.

I have stayed at POFQ 3 times, once after rehab. As for what was rehabbed, Everything was new, not just carpet, mattress, paint, &bedspreads, except the bathroom fixtures ( including the 2 sinks outside of the bathroom) and I think the tile in there was the same. ALL of the furniture was new. And it was beautiful. We stayed in bldg 2 and found it to be clean and we were very happy with our stay there. Really, you can have bad experiences in any hotel, unfortunately. After the horrid places we stay at on the way down to WDW and back, I am always happy with the cleanliness and condition of rooms at WDW. (We stay in places like Hampton Inn, Baymont Inn, and too many times it has been awful! I will never, ever stay in another TravelLodge!) And since we usually have AP rates, I feel we are getting a good deal there, too. I'm grateful to have not had any awful experiences while at WDW!

We had a dirty pair of socks on the floor in our room at the GF last year ... it can happen anywhere. I don't think it's fair to slam POFQ... it's up to you to complain at the time of your visit and get things taken care of while you're there... not when you return home. We had a few housekeeping issues last week... one day they didn't replace the empty kleenex, one day there were crumbs on the floor, etc, no mousekeeper is perfect so we called and had it taken care of. They always brought everything we asked for. One day we returned at 3:30 pm and our room had not been made up... I called and they sent two mousekeepers within 5 minutes and they were quick and apologetic. Overall I was pleased with our stay and would stay there again when looking for a good deal. ::yes::

I will be staying at POFQ IN AUGUST.

Is there a consensus as to which is the best building for overall comfort
and user friendliness?

gee Debsays, sorry you didn't have a great experience at POFQ:( i just got back from a 10 night stay there followed by 4 nights at akl. my experience was that mousekeeping was actually better at POFQ, although akl was ok. i loved FQ and would not hesitate to stay there again. loved having the coffee maker in the room and coffee pouches were replenished daily. i thought the rooms were really pretty. my favorite mod had been CSR but now i'm torn between CSR and POFQ. the boat ride to DD is a nice perk.

Travelgooddess - We will be there the same time you are. Our trip is 11/1 to 11/8. Maybe we will run into each other :D

Debsays - sorry you had a bad experience :( . I also think you should contact Disney directly & share your thoughts.

I have been doing a lot of homework on this resort and I can say that the positive experiences & comments far outweigh the negatives. Just keep in mind that everyone's tastes are different & not every hotel is perfect on everyday. We are really looking forward to our stay in November. I just booked the 7 for 5 deal today :Pinkbounc ! The countdown clock just needs to move faster

I was at FQ April 18th - 24th. As I said in my original post, mousekeeping was not great. While we were there, our towels were replaced and our beds made. That was it! I opened a bar of soap and the wrapper stayed in the shower the whole trip. On the first day we had 6 towels (used all), on the second day 5, then 4, strange. I am very neat and we are hardly ever in the room, so it was okay for us, but I do understand people's complaints. I started out tipping $5 a day. The last three days, I gave nothing. I have never done that.

We just returned from POFQ (4/28-5/4). We have stayed there quite a few times and this is the only time I have ever had a complaint. First, we requested first floor and ended up on the third floor! Also, the mousekeeping was horrible. We were in Bldg. 2. We had to repeatedly ask for soap, shampoo, cups and coffee. Our room was not really cleaned every day. They just ran the vacuum thru the middle of the room. There was a glob of toothpaste that stayed on the ledge in the bathroom the whole time we were there. They never cleaned our coffee pot nor emptied the ice bucket. Never any towel animals. My daughter woke up with bug bites on her legs that were not there when she went to bed.

Other than that, the Food Court was great and we enjoyed the resort itself. But not happy with the new bus routes. When you leave DTD, they go thru all 4 Riverside stops before going to POFQ. The DTD bus now also goes thru Typhoon Lagoon. Several times when leaving the MK, the bus went to POR first. Makes no sense with there being only 1 POFQ stop to make those people ride thru all 4 Riverside stops. The boats take 15-20 from POFQ and then go to POR. Why not have two boats?
