The last 2 times I was in disney we stayed at POR. Now with POFQ opening in time for my May trip I'm considering staying there. One of the biggest complaints we had about POR was the long walk to the pool, bus stop, and main building. Obviously FQ is smaller but can anyone comment on these issues. Also, are there any quiet pools at FQ? I'm also thinking that since it was recently renovated the rooms will be lovely and everything will look fresh.

We love POFQ. We've stayed there 2 out of the 3 times we've stayed onsite. It is much smaller so the walks to bus stop and food court are pretty short. I don't remember if there was a quiet pool. We only used the main pool. DS loves the slide there!
Everything is very convenient. I would like to go back there to stay, but alas, DH is making me try the other resorts first. ;)

We just made reservations for POFQ - my kids first trip to WDW. POFQ will be re-opening soon, I think March or May. I've never been there before, but the rooms should be all refurbished.
Good luck.

We've stayed at both POR and POFQ, and while both are great, we prefer POFQ. POFQ is much smaller and none of the buildings are a far walk from the food court, main building, or bus stop. I don't think there is a quiet pool- but again, the resort is small- 7 buidings of rooms I think. And it is newly refurbished- so it should be in top shape! We can't wait to get back to our favorite resort in November!

POFQ is a wonderful resort. Im sure it will be even better now that it has been renovated. There are no long walks at all. The Bus stop is at the front of the resort and pool is in the back center. You could walk the entire resort in about 5 minutes
Have fun
Marcus

According to the CMs at POR the FQ will open on March 21. No quiet pool, however, pool sharing is allowed between these 2 sister resorts. I haven't heard if the marina will reopen. This had closed before the renovations along with the bike rental. Hope the resort is reopenned fully. Only the food court still at this resort. We were frequent fans of Bonfamilles (their restraurant before it closed). I'm sure everything will be fresh and new at this resort.

Our family has stayed at the POR during Easter break and POFQ during the first week of Feb. Careful when staying at POFQ during heavy volume at POR. During the Easter week, the bus bringing us back from MK late one Friday afternoon made its first stop at the POFQ. Apparently it was headed right back to MK and there were folks wanting to board at POFQ. This group was denied by our bus (2nd one in a row) because no one got off at POFQ and we were full headed over to POR. Now, maybe some other arrangements have improved this, but when we later stayed at POFQ, ours was always the first stop. This makes it great first thing in the morning and when you are coming back. Just heads up for afternoon trips to the MK during peak season.
