so...I was thinking....I guess POFQ doesn't have balconies,right? So I thought if I requested a ground floor room, it would fell more like we had a little porch area....or am I mistaken?

Only the Deluxe resorts have balconies, none of the moderates/values do. The doors at POFQ open up to the outside, but there is nothing closed off for privacy but I sometimes pull a chair outside at night and relax.. I plan on doing that in September since I have a river view room for the first time!

It will be the same on the ground floor than any other floor. The doors to the rooms open onto a common walkway around the buildings.

Yes, you could. And some folks do. But you will have other guests walking past you frequently with their strollers, shopping bags, luggage etc. While these are public walkways, they are not wide. Think along the lines of the width of your average hotel hallway.
